Fabric Designed by Jacqueline De Jonge

Jacqueline de Jonge is a self-taught quilter from Delft, the Netherlands, known worldwide for her vibrant and intricate quilt designs under the BeColourful label. She discovered her passion for quilting in 1978, and from the moment she saw her first quilt, she was captivated. Since then, quilting has become not just a creative pursuit, but a calling—what she describes as a miracle and a gift from God. Jacqueline’s award-winning quilts are celebrated for their dazzling use of color, precision, and dynamic patterns. Rooted in traditional quilting techniques but infused with a bold, contemporary flair, her designs have been exhibited internationally and continue to inspire quilters around the globe. Her signature style features sharp points, striking stars, and flying geese—achieved through meticulous paper foundation piecing and machine sewing. The result: quilts that are true showpieces, full of energy and movement, designed to brighten any space. Since 2004, Jacqueline has shared her expertise through lectures and workshops across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, and in 2011 she was profiled on The Quilt Show with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson. The show later featured her Happiness pattern and instructional DVD as its 2014 Summer class. In 2014, the American Quilter’s Society published The BeColourful Quilt Collection, showcasing around 50 of her most iconic patterns. Jacqueline lives in the charming city of Delft, known for its Royal Delftware, where she is surrounded by family—and adored by her beloved Siamese cat, Mr. Pooky, and her rescued Greyhound, Amy. Since 2015, Jacqueline has partnered exclusively with Anthology Fabrics, bringing her vibrant vision to life as both a designer and textile artist.
