It typically features a central square surrounded by two sets of half-square triangles, creating a square in a square effect. This block adds a classic, eyecatching element to any quilt. It works with the GO!, GO! Bolt and GO! Big cutters, and AccuQuilt recommends cutting up to 6 layers of cotton, batiks, satin, silk at a time. Cutting requires the AccuQuilt GO! 10" x 10" cutting mat, sold separately. How to Die Cut GO! Nine Patch Star Die 9" Finished

• For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Tip: The die is specially designed to cut one complete 3-color 9" finished block in one pass through the cutter.
• Fabric Color 1: Cut three 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles. Place over shapes A and cut six shapes. (There will be one extra shape. Set aside for next block.) Cut four 3 3/8" squares. Place over shape C and cut 4 shapes.
• Fabric Color 2: Cut two 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles. Place over shapes A and cut four shapes. Cut four 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles. Place two rectangles right side up and two rectangles right side down over shapes D. Cut four D pieces right side up and four D pieces right side down.
• Fabric Color 3: Cut four 5 1/2" x 3 1/4" rectangles. Place over shape B and cut four shapes.

Die Tips

• With some fabrics, a thread or two may remain where die blades meet after cutting. Snip these threads with scissors.
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to the edge of the shape, not the edge of the die board.
• Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
• It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
• Care & Maintenance: Use adhesive roller or die pick to clean lint and thread from dies. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
• GO! Bolt material limits: up to 6 layers of cotton, batiks or silk; 2 layers of cotton with fusible web; or 1 layer of fleece, flannel, denim, leather, wool, batting or felt. Use no more than 4 layers when running two 5-inch-wide dies side by side. Start with fewer layers and follow the cutter and die instructions.
