Cutting skinny then wide, curved sided pieces of the Winding Ways pattern is a trick. This GO! precision cutting die makes taking the winding way a breeze. It features matching notches on curved seams for easy pinning and quick sewing. Creates an 8" finished square. The die includes 3 unique shapes on a 10" x 10" die board. Finished size: 8" Finished Block.

Winding Ways is a Block on Board® (BOB®) die means it's specially designed to cut two complete 2-color, 8" blocks in one pass through the cutter. It works with the GO!, GO! Bolt, GO! Big and Studio 2 (with a GO! die adapter) cutters. Cutting requires the AccuQuilt GO! 10" x 10" cutting mat, sold separately. Because there are no templates to trace or rulers to slip, it is an easy way for beginners and experienced quilters alike to get consistent, accurate pieces quickly.

How to Die Cut Go! Die Winding Ways 8" Finished

• For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Cover the six shapes on the die with two layers of one fabric color and two layers of a contrasting fabric color to cut two, 2-color blocks in one pass thru the cutter.
• Shape A: Cut a 5" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 5" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 8 Shape A's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 56 Shape A's.
• Shape B: Cut a 4" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 4" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 10 Shape B's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 90 Shape B's.
• Shape C: Cut a 3 1/4" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 5" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 8 Shape C's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 88 Shape C's.

Die Tips

• With some fabrics, a thread or two may remain where die blades meet after cutting. Snip these threads with scissors.
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to the edge of the shape, not the edge of the die board.
• Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
• It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
• Care & Maintenance: Use adhesive roller or die pick to clean lint and thread from dies. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
• For Studio or Studio 2 use, fit the GO! die in the appropriate GO! die adapter and compatible Studio tray, and use Studio cutting plastic instead of a GO! cutting mat.
• GO! Bolt material limits: up to 6 layers of cotton, batiks or silk; 2 layers of cotton with fusible web; or 1 layer of fleece, flannel, denim, leather, wool, batting or felt. Use no more than 4 layers when running two 5-inch-wide dies side by side. Start with fewer layers and follow the cutter and die instructions.
