Patty Basemi has been a creative spirit for as long as she can remember. From a young age, she gravitated toward all things handmade—painting, needlepoint, and anything that allowed her to express herself artistically. Her passion for creativity deepened over the years, especially during school, where she eagerly embraced every art and design class available. Patty discovered quilting while expecting her first child, and it quickly became a profound artistic outlet. She fell in love with combining colors and prints, transforming fabric into vibrant, one-of-a-kind quilts. A few years later, her mother opened a quilting studio, and what started as a search for beautiful fabrics evolved into something more—Patty's journey into surface pattern design. Originally born in Mexico and raised near the sunny beaches of Miami, Patty now lives with her loving husband and their three children: Barbara, Santiago, and Emiliano. Her days are often filled with painting, designing, gardening, and soaking in the inspiration she finds through nature and her family. She’s endlessly inspired by butterflies, ice cream, sunny days, and the small joyful moments of everyday life—especially those shared with her children. For Patty, seeing her designs come to life and bring joy to others is the realization of a lifelong dream.
