Fabric Designed by Genesis Hall

Genesis Hall, also known as Genny, is a 15-year-old fiber artist whose passion for quilting has rapidly distinguished her in the field. With four years of sewing experience and over two years dedicated to quilting, she has already earned a reputation as a young prodigy in the craft. Her work reflects a deep dedication to the art form, shaped by a unique perspective as a military child who has lived in various countries around the world. Each new place has provided inspiration and influenced her creative voice, allowing her to incorporate diverse textures, colors, and stories into her quilts. Genesis’s journey into sewing began at the age of 10, sparked by curiosity after a friend mentioned taking sewing lessons. What started as a casual interest quickly became a full-blown passion. After six months of lessons at a local sewing studio, she was hooked. While she learned the fundamentals in that setting, most of her skills have been self-taught—honed through online tutorials, quilt-alongs, and countless hours of trial and error. She continues to expand her expertise by exploring advanced techniques such as foundation paper piecing and free-motion quilting, often enrolling in classes at local quilt shops to deepen her knowledge. Despite her age, Genesis approaches her craft with both curiosity and discipline, pushing boundaries and challenging herself with every project. Her work is not only a reflection of technical skill but also of a lived experience rich in movement, adaptation, and creativity.
