Laurastar Smart 1980 Gold Ironing System

Effortless, Crease-Free Ironing with the Laurastar Smart 1980 Gold Ironing System from World Weidner

Bring professional-quality pressing home with the Laurastar Smart 1980 Gold Ironing System. This special edition of Laurastar's popular Smart U steam ironing system includes all of Laurastar's Smart technologies in an elegant matte gold finish. Its professional iron senses your movement and releases steam automatically, works at one ideal temperature for every fabric, and uses Laurastar DMS (Dry Microfine Steam), a fine, powerful dry steam that refreshes fibers without leaving clothes wet. Paired with an active ironing board that blows and vacuums, it helps you prevent creases and get smooth results with less effort. As an authorized Laurastar dealer, World Weidner delivers your brand-new Smart 1980 with full factory warranty coverage and support from our in-house team.

The Smart 1980 is made for sewists, quilters, and anyone who cares for fine garments and home textiles. Press seams and quilt blocks on its 49.2" x 16.5" board surface, gently care for silk, wool, and cotton, and connect by Bluetooth to the Laurastar app for maintenance alerts and ironing tutorials. The 1980 edition also comes with a special 1980 ironing board cover and a neoprene storage bag that helps protect the system from dust and scratches, and two pairs of integrated wheels let you roll it from your sewing room to the laundry room.

Main Features & Ironing Benefits

Sensteam Automatic Steam

Laurastar's Sensteam technology senses the movements you make with the iron and activates the steam automatically. There's no steam button to press, so you can focus on the garment or quilt block in front of you. Simply start moving the iron and steam is released.

One Ideal Temperature for All Fabrics

After studies in its laboratories, Laurastar determined one ideal ironing temperature, and the Smart 1980 reaches it automatically. There are no temperature dials to adjust when you move from cotton shirts to silk blouses or wool suiting. It makes ironing mixed loads simpler, with no settings to change between fabrics.

Laurastar DMS Dry Microfine Steam

Laurastar DMS (Dry Microfine Steam) treats fabrics gently, delicately plumping fibers with a dry steam that doesn't leave clothes wet. Laurastar says DMS works 15 times faster than steam from standard steam generators, helping you get a perfect result in half the time. It also provides a hygienic effect deep in the fibers: in tests by the Swiss laboratory Scitec Research, it killed 99.999% of bacteria and 100% of dust mites through the simple act of ironing.

Pulse Steam Finishing

Laurastar's latest high-end models, including the Smart 1980, are equipped with pulsed steam. Diffused through a series of intermittent bursts, pulsed steam injects an optimum amount of steam into the fabric. It's designed to deliver beautiful results regardless of the color or type of fabric you're ironing.

Active Board with Blowing and Vacuum

The Laurastar active ironing board uses a fan and vacuum system to protect fabrics while breathing new life into your clothing. The blowing function holds fabric in place and creates an air cushion that helps prevent creases from forming. Switch to vacuum to keep clothing flat on the board, so stubborn creases are easier to iron out and pressed seams stay put.

Active 3D Soleplate

Laurastar created the Active 3D soleplate to keep your clothes beautiful. Its brushed aluminum surface holds fabric in place while steam is distributed across the entire soleplate. The result is smooth, crease-free ironing in a single movement, with fibers that are thoroughly refreshed.

Bluetooth Connectivity and App Coaching

With Bluetooth technology, the Smart 1980 connects to the Laurastar mobile app, which sends maintenance alerts and coaches you on how to iron and beautify your clothes. Three types of video tutorials cover installation, basic ironing techniques, and expert advice for ironing silk, cotton, and wool. It's a helpful guide whether you're new to steam ironing systems or refining your technique.

Removable 40.5 oz Water Tank

The removable water tank holds 40.5 ounces and has a handle, a visible water level, and a tank-empty light. You can add water without interrupting your ironing, which keeps long pressing sessions moving.

Fold-Up Iron Rest and Safe Storage

The fold-up iron rest extends your working surface, so you can make the most of the ironing board. When you're finished, the heat-resistant storage space lets you put the iron away while it's still hot, right after you've used it.

1980 Edition Board Cover and Storage Bag

The special 1980 ironing board cover features graphic lines that help guide you as you fold clothing into neat stacks. The included neoprene storage bag helps protect your Smart 1980 from dust and scratches between uses.
