Fabric Designed by Michelle Austin

Michelle Austin is a Canadian Watercolor Artist and Surface Pattern Designer with a Design degree from the Alberta University of the Arts. Inspired by her garden and all things that bloom, Michelle creates beautiful surface pattern designs from original hand-painted watercolor paintings. Her work inspires a feeling of calm by utilizing subdued color palettes and selecting subjects that invoke a sense of beauty and tranquility.

Michelle’s experience as a photographer and graphic designer offers her a unique perspective and approach to surface design, as does her extensive experience as a sewist and creator of traditional arts such as embroidery, knitting, and felting. When not painting, Michelle spends her time with her amazing husband and two beautiful children.
