A lifelong lover of color and pattern, this Jessica Swift is a Portland-based surface pattern designer draws early inspiration from a childhood surrounded by fabric, art, and creativity. Raised in Boulder, Colorado, she was influenced by a grandmother who painted and quilted, and a mother who sewed and made dolls. These early experiences laid the foundation for a career in design that blends artistic expression with textile tradition. She now works from a sunlit backyard studio, where she paints, designs, and teaches others the art of pattern creation through her online course and community, Pattern Camp. Inspired by nature, travel, and everyday beauty, her work celebrates the vivid shapes, textures, and colors found all around us.
