This kit is for customers that do not already own a HoopMaster System, and would like to start out with everything they need for a 5.5″ Mighty Hoop. The HoopMaster system helps align and apply the Mighty Hoops to garments. The HoopMaster is not required to use the Mighty Hoops, but it will make the hooping process quick, easy, accurate and consistent. This is the most common kit sold to new customers.

Three kits are available: the 5.5" Starter Kit, the 5.5" Starter Kit plus an 8x13" Mighty Hoop and adjustable fixture, and the 5.5" Starter Kit plus an 11x13" Mighty Hoop and adjustable fixture. For the add-on kits, the sewing field option lists the field for the 5.5" hoop first and the larger hoop second (for example, "CH400A + TJ500").

The inside dimension of the 5.5" hoop is approximately 135 × 135 mm (5.3" square). The sewing area is approximately 110–122 mm square, depending on the machine and presser foot.
