Creative Grids Squiggy Low Shank Machine Quilting Tool CGRQTA4LS

Designed by Angela Walters. Creative Grids Rulers are made in the USA and sold through independent quilt shops as well as select online retailers.

1/8" thick for Low Shank machine quilting with the appropriate ruler foot. Squiggy may look different from your usual machine quilting ruler, but trust us, it's your go-to ruler for machine quilting serpentine lines and wavy designs. The serpentine line is a curvy design that's perfect for quilt borders and sashings. It adds beautiful texture and depth to your quilts, but can be difficult to free-motion quilt.

Angela Walters, machine quilting teacher and author, designed Squiggy after the realization that this design was one that a majority of quilters struggle with. Squiggy is versatile, allowing you to quilt serpentine lines in 2" and 3" borders as well as quilting them from top to bottom, bottom to top, left to right or right to left. Now you don't have to spend months trying to learn the design, you can get right to quilting them in your quilts! Black and White dashed guide lines are visible on all fabric colors.

Mirror image design allows you to quilt multiple width borders with the same tool. Seam guides guarantee accuracy. Stopping points ensure a continuous quilting design. Use it for serpentine Lines In Both Directions in 2 and 3" Borders and Sashings; overlapping Serpentine Lines; varied Serpentine Lines; allover Ribbons; ogees; clamshells and more.

The Creative Grids non-slip grip lets you position the tool on the fabric, then helps hold it steady when pressure is applied while quilting.

Creative Projects You Can Complete

Add serpentine lines and wavy texture to borders or sashing with Squiggy. Repeating or overlapping the curves can create ribbon-like designs while keeping the quilting connected.

Use the mirror-image guides and stopping points for the intended border width and direction. Practice one repeat first to check the spacing before extending the design across the project. Use the 1/8-inch low-shank tool with the compatible ruler foot and machine setup.
