Creative Grids Hunter's Star Trim Tool CGRDH7

Designed by Deb Heatherly. Creative Grids Rulers are made in the USA and sold through independent quilt shops as well as select online retailers.

The Hunter's Star Trim Tool designed by Deb Heatherly for Creative Grids makes Hunter's Star blocks using simple squares and rectangles along with the trimming lines right on the tool. Add some creative color placement, and huge variety of Hunter's Star quilts are all yours. Easy to read black and white markings. Cutting requirements are printed right on the tool for three different sized blocks.

Choose from 6", 7", or 8" units that create 12", 14" and 16" finished blocks.

The Creative Grids non-slip grip lets you position the ruler on the fabric, then helps hold it steady when pressure is applied for cutting or marking. It comes with illustrated step-by-step instructions. Scan the QR code printed on the tool or instructions to watch a how-to video and see patterns made with it.

Creative Projects You Can Complete

Make Hunter’s Star blocks for a runner, cushion or quilt, then explore how light and dark placement changes the pattern when blocks meet. This tool supports 12-, 14- and 16-inch finished blocks.

Keep the starting squares and rectangles organized by value and follow the chart for this exact tool. Arrange a few blocks before joining the full quilt so the star points and secondary shapes develop as intended. For a guided layout, companion patterns such as Aquilla and Three Color Fun offer projects for this tool; follow the selected pattern’s fabric and cutting requirements.
