Creative Grids 10in Log Cabin Trim Ruler Tool Duo CGRJAW10

Designed by Jean Ann Wright. Creative Grids Rulers are made in the USA and sold through independent quilt shops as well as select online retailers.

This 10" Log Cabin Trim Tool, designed by Jean Ann Wright for Creative Grids, creates 10" finished log cabin blocks, Half Log Cabin, and Courthouse Step blocks with this Trim Tool Duo. Choose from the standard 1" finished strips or the 1/2" finished strips, or a combination of the two for endless design potential. Easy to read black and white markings. Two sets of strip widths and center square measurements are printed right on the tool.

Make Log Cabin blocks with the same width of strips, or combine the two widths for limitless designs. Each round of logs is trimmed to size before the next round is added making every block the same size when completed. To trim, place the appropriate centering square on the ruler over the center square of the block and trim.

The Creative Grids non-slip grip lets you position the ruler on the fabric, then helps hold it steady when pressure is applied for cutting or marking. It comes with illustrated step-by-step instructions. Scan the QR code printed on the tool or instructions to watch a how-to video and see patterns made with it.

Creative Projects You Can Complete

Build consistent Log Cabin, Half Log Cabin or Courthouse Steps blocks for a runner, cushion or quilt. Light and dark fabric placement can create strong secondary patterns when the blocks are arranged together.

Use the printed strip widths and center-square references, trimming each round before adding the next. Follow the finished size supported by this exact tool and audition block rotations before joining the project. For a guided layout, companion patterns such as Rustic Star and Floating Cabin offer projects for this tool; follow the selected pattern’s fabric and cutting requirements.
