Here's a fun little project that's as much fun to make as it is to share with others. This smaller version of the hugely popular GO! Big Bowl Cozy fits in the GO! Fabric Cutter. Be sure to team it up with 100% cotton fabric, batting, and thread to make it microwave-safe. It is built on a 10" x 10" die board. Finished size: 6 3/4"W x 2 1/2"L x 6 3/4"H.

Using material with other fibers can cause a fire in your microwave during use. Check labels carefully. There are specific brands of batting designed for this use also. No template required. The GO! Small Bowl Cozy die includes one standard-sized bowl cozy shape that can be time-consuming to cut by hand. It works with the GO!, GO! Bolt, GO! Big and Studio 2 (with a GO! die adapter) cutters, and AccuQuilt recommends cutting up to 6 layers of cotton, batiks, satin, silk at a time. Cutting requires the AccuQuilt GO! 10" x 10" cutting mat, sold separately. Because there are no templates to trace or rulers to slip, it is an easy way for beginners and experienced quilters alike to get consistent, accurate pieces quickly.

How to Die Cut GO! Small Bowl Cozy Die

• For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller.
• To cut 3 fabric sets in one pass through the cutter: Cut six 9 1/2" squares of coordinating fabrics. Place right side up to cut.
• To cut 1 fabric & batting set in one pass through the cutter: Cut one 9 1/2" fabric square and one 9 1/2" batting square. Lay fabric piece right side up on top of piece of batting to cut so you are ready for your first sewing step.

Die Tips

• With some fabrics, a thread or two may remain where die blades meet after cutting. Snip these threads with scissors.
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to the edge of the shape, not the edge of the die board.
• Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
• It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
• Care & Maintenance: Use adhesive roller or die pick to clean lint and thread from dies. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
• For Studio or Studio 2 use, fit the GO! die in the appropriate GO! die adapter and compatible Studio tray, and use Studio cutting plastic instead of a GO! cutting mat.
• GO! Bolt material limits: up to 6 layers of cotton, batiks or silk; 2 layers of cotton with fusible web; or 1 layer of fleece, flannel, denim, leather, wool, batting or felt. Use no more than 4 layers when running two 5-inch-wide dies side by side. Start with fewer layers and follow the cutter and die instructions.
