Patti Carey, of Patti’s Patchwork, is a lifelong creative whose work spans quilting, fabric design, and education. Through her platform, she shares patterns, quilting insights, and resources, along with information on her lectures and workshops designed to inspire and support quilters of all skill levels. With a career rooted in the textile industry, Patti spent 38 years with Northcott, beginning in 1986. When the company transitioned into quilting fabrics, she discovered her passion for quilting and quickly became deeply involved in the craft. Since 1995, she has been designing quilts for Northcott as well as for numerous leading quilting publications, including The Quilter, Love of Quilting, Easy Quilts, McCall’s Quilting, and Quiltmaker. Many of her designs have been featured as cover quilts and have become best-sellers. In 2008, Patti launched her own line of quilt patterns, known for their efficient, time-saving techniques. She is particularly recognized for her expertise in designing quilts using panels and border stripes. In addition to pattern design, she also creates fabric collections that reflect her thoughtful and practical approach to quilting. As an educator, Patti travels to quilt guilds and shops, delivering engaging presentations that explore fabric design and offer guidance on making the most of it in quilting projects. Her work is driven by a deep appreciation for the creativity and generosity of the quilting community.
